STOCKCHALLENGE RULES
StockChallenge is a non commercial, non professional UK stock picking competition. It is intended for fun and amusement only.
General rules
- You should select a portfolio of 5 different stocks (excluding warrants and other geared instruments) listed on the London Stock Exchange and Aquis Exchange.
- No changes to stock selections are permitted during the challenge.
- Challenges close for entries 2 hours before trading commences on the first day of the challenge.
- The start prices of the stocks will be the ask prices (bid prices on short entries), determined between 08:00 and 09:30 on the first day of the challenge.
- The end prices of the stocks will be the bid prices (ask prices on short entries) approximately 15 minutes before market close on the last day of the challenge.
- Dividends (net) will be applied to portfolios as appropriate on the ex-dividend dates.
- Geared instruments such as warrants, nil paid and leveraged ETFS shares will not be permitted. Should such an instrument be selected the entry may be replaced by the equivalent ungeared instrument.
- Stocks will not be included if they are not open for trading at the start of the challenge. In this case the remaining stock selections will be used to determine a portfolio valuation.
- In the case of going into administration or receivership stocks will be valued at zero, unless there is evidence to support doing otherwise.
- In the case of suspension a stock will be valued at the price it was suspended at, or zero if there appears to be little prospect of a return to shareholders.
- StockChallenge will attempt to track corporate actions, such as mergers and demergers, but if this is too difficult to administer stocks will valued at the time the corporate action took place.
- Email addresses and other details of entrants will not be used for any purpose other than contacting entrants in connection with StockChallenge.
- Whilst StockChallenge will take reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of the data, it cannot guarantee to be free of errors or omissions.
- Where data collection or Internet connection problems cause delays, best substitute data may be used and force majeure rules will apply.
- And the decision of the StockChallenge organisers is final !
